Combating ID Fraud

Raising awareness of ID Fraud: Jane Ellison (left) talks to Tom and Kylie about the issue
Battersea residents are more 'at risk' from ID Fraud than most people, with five Wandsworth roads appearing in a list of the top 25 most 'at risk' in the UK. Jane Ellison has discussed the problem and ways of tacking it with local police chief Stewart Low. She's put his advice along with other useful tips into a Residents' News ID Fraud Special leaflet which is currently being distributed with a letter from Jane.
"Earlier this year I was alarmed to receive a bulletin from the local police which highlighted how vulnerable people in this area are to Identity Fraud. Experian, a major UK credit agency, identified five Wandsworth roads in the top 25 'most-at-risk' roads in the UK. I wanted to know more about protecting myself and decided to pull some practical advice together to share it with my fellow local residents" Jane Ellison
The campaign to date: Autumn 2008 Jane raised the subject of ID Fraud with local police chief, Borough Commander Stewart Low at a recent meeting and asked him for his advice to residents.
